Herbal Remedies for Bronchitis

Bronchitis is a common disease and many people seem to have annual re-occurrences. It is an inflammation of the linings of the air tubes in your lungs. One of the most common ways people get it is after recovering from a cold or flu when mucus in the lungs gets infected causing irritation. Smoking or damp air conditions can also lead to long term or recurring bronchitis. Below are some herbal remedies for bronchitis from different schools of herbal medicine.

Ayurveda, the traditional medicine practiced in India, offers a couple herbal remedies for bronchitis and related symptoms. If you have a fever, you can put warm mustard seed oil on a cloth and apply as a compress to your forehead. Another remedy is to crush some ginger root and add to honey and lime juice. Drink this as required like any normal medication.

Other herbal remedies for bronchitis include peppermint tea to soothe a cough, ginseng in hot water to help eliminate infection, and a mustard seed poultice applied to the chest to reduce congestion. There are also remedies from traditional Chinese herbal medicine, aromatherapy, and other homeopathic cures.

Another good thing to try is Broncho Soothe which is one of several remedies from Native Remedies that can help you beat bronchitis. Once you are there, you can just do a search on bronchitis and find more products and information.
