How to Incorporate Pistachios into your Diet

We all know that pistachios are a healthy food choice. Not only are they full of vitamins and minerals they are also high in fiber. They can help aid weight loss, help lower cholesterol levels, help to regulate your blood sugar levels, have a high iron content and they are a good source of vegetable protein. So how can you incorporate this little nut into your diet?

  • Start your day with pistachios – they can be added to muffins, cereal or pancakes. Search “pistachio recipes” online and you’ll get several ideas to get your started.
  • Add them to your salad – a little crunch can change a boring salad into something amazing. You can chop them first or just throw in a handful.
  • Chop and add to your yogurt.
  • Fill a snack size Ziploc bag with a serving size of pistachios (about 50 nuts). This should contain about 160 calories. Pistachios are also known as the “skinny nut” because it’s one of the lowest calorie snack nuts.
